Luke 23:26
Simon of Cyrene had the honor of helping carry Christ’s cross. He was walking through town, noticed the crowd moving through town and was made to carry the cross. Sometimes God will call us at a time that is not that convenient to us. We feel put out by this call and will either put it off or put it our of our minds, but what if we immediately put those plans into action?
We must be ready to follow when God calls and understand that this may have a consequence that we had not anticipated when we woke up that morning. Maybe our friends will be disappointed in our decision to follow God instead of them. Maybe we will miss out on something that we were looking forward to. I can remember several times in the past where I had to miss something I was looking forward to in order to serve here at the church.
